The L14G2 is a high-performance NPN phototransistor designed for precise light detection. It functions as an efficient photodetector, converting incident light directly into an electrical response. This component is widely utilized in various sensing applications, often paired with an LED light source. Its transparent case exposes the base-collector region, optimizing light sensitivity. When photons strike this junction, electrons are generated and injected into the base. The transistor's inherent current gain then amplifies the resulting photocurrent significantly. This allows the L14G2 to conduct reliably in the presence of light and remain off in its absence. With a maximum dark current of 100nA and a light current of 500µA, it offers excellent performance. This phototransistor is also a direct and reliable equivalent for the L14F1 and L14G3 in most circuit designs.",
